For all Defense Industrial Base (DIB) contractors, safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Federal Contract Information (FCI) is not merely best practice—it is a critical mandate. Compliance with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework, specifically CMMC Level 2, is predicated entirely upon the robust implementation and institutionalization of the 110 security requirements detailed in NIST SP 800-171 Revision 2.

An effective organizational security program is paramount. This program must systematically address each of the 14 families of security requirements outlined in NIST SP 800-171 Revision 2, encompassing areas from Access Control to System and Information Integrity. This necessitates not only the deployment of technical controls but also the establishment of comprehensive policies, defined procedures, and meticulous documentation. Key artifacts often include an System Security Plan (SSP) and a robust process for managing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) for any identified deficiencies.

Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) constitutes an integral component of this security posture. DIB contractors bear the responsibility to ensure that any subcontractors or third-party vendors handling CUI also meet the requisite security standards. The CMMC framework extends these stringent requirements throughout the entire supply chain, necessitating thorough due diligence and the appropriate flow-down of security clauses in contracts to protect sensitive national security information.

As an Authorized C3PAO, our role is to conduct independent and objective assessments against the NIST SP 800-171 Revision 2 requirements. We serve as trusted guides, providing clarity on the rigorous assessment process and helping DIB organizations understand the precise evidence required to demonstrate compliance. Our mission is to educate and facilitate a thorough evaluation of your organization's security posture, ensuring alignment with federal mandates.

Achieving CMMC Level 2 certification signifies your organization's unwavering commitment to protecting CUI. This is essential for maintaining eligibility for DoD contracts and, fundamentally, contributing to the strength of national security. We are dedicated to supporting your understanding and comprehensive preparation for this critical assessment process.
